"Precious" is simply precious!
Monster's Ball producer Lee Daniels came back this time with this adaptation of author Sapphire's best-selling novel about an overweight, ignorant, or maybe illiterate would fit better, , African-American teen from Harlem who discovers a new way to change her life after she begins attending a new school. Clareece "Precious" Jones is only a 16 year old, yet she's about to give birth to her second child. Unable to read or write, Clareece shows a little prospect for the future because of the verbally and physically abuse that she has received by her mother and father until discovering that she has been accepted into an alternative school. There, with a little help from a sympathetic teacher (Paula Patton) and a kindly nurse (Lenny Kravitiz), the young girl receives something that most teens never get which is a chance to start over. Mo'nique, who deserved the Oscar that she received brilliantly, did a wonderful job and her act was so convincing. that movie was indeed one of the best, if not the best, of 2009 movie. a movie that will make you cry and feel sorry for our precious! the only down side of this movie is the huge amount of profanity and bad language, but if you are comfortable with that, you have no choice but to watch it!
